Our Ethos & Origins
Hi! I'm Melissa, the founder of The Mock Audition Club.
After graduating from the London School of Musical Theatre in 2025, I found myself struggling to find affordable opportunities to keep up my auditioning skills. There are hundreds of drop-in dance classes for mock dance call practice - however, what are actor/singers meant to do? How are we meant to practice for auditions - ten minutes with adrenaline going, performing material in front of people you've never met - when there isn't an affordable, drop-in space for you to do that on a regular basis?
So I've created it.
The Mock Audition Club is a space for graduates to gather and run whatever material they need to, with the added pressure of other (friendly, non-influential!) people watching. The sessions been crafted as a result of what we used to do for each other at drama school before important auditions: watch each other perform material, give second opinions, and reassure each other that the choices we were making were translating. An opportunity to test material in front of a crowd - giving us the confidence to KNOW we could deliver the same under pressure, because we'd done it already.
These sessions are designed for people who want to keep their in person auditioning skills up at an accessible price - so when the real ones come along, you can guarantee you've done all you can to prepare. For those wanting to try out new songs to their rep, practice hitting the high note for their recall next Thursday, or be challenged with a new context for an old favourite song - these sessions are for you. We're here to hold each other accountable for our practice, ensure we're practicing under pressure, and taking control of what we can when it comes to pursuing our dreams - crucially, for an affordable price.
Each session is priced at £13 - the same as your average drop-in dance class. The equivalent, but for acting and singing.
I hope to see you there - make the commitment to yourself, and #PracticeUnderPressure!
